I've been out and done 3k on my old traditional skis. Not quite ideal conditions for the skate skis. Any exercise you can do is good. You can see many people bundled up and going for walks around town. It may be cool when you start, but you will pro…

Had To Go!

No... I'm not referring to taking a pee, although getting splashed in the crotch with super cooled salted road water does illicit certain feelings, but the run I had to take tonight. It is against my nature to cancel a run due to weather, or in this case road conditions, but the decision to do so was the right one tonight. Cancellation

Cancellation:

Please note taht tonight's (February 9) Hill Clinic session is cancelled.

Due to the nature of the workout, the slushy road conditions, and the forecast for freezing drizzle and snow later this evening.

This session will take place next Tuesday.

Skiing and Snowshoeing - It Is Time!

I've been out for a couple of short ski trips on the local trails. That was before this recent addition of snow, so conditions should be much improved. It should also be good for snowshoeing.

". . . skiers can burn as many as six hundred to nine hundred calories per hour. The kick and glide technique, combined with the poling motion to propel you along, can provide a more complete workout than running or cycling . . ."

Website Access and Your Computer

If you are having trouble with this website, there are a few things you can do.

First, see if it is ok on other computers. If everyone has the same problem, it is probably a temporary glitch with the ning.com server. Try it again in a few minutes, or a couple hours.

If the problem is not with the server, it has to be with the computer you are using. Check that you have the latest Flash player, and other updates for your browsers and operating system.
